Easy to use GeoNodes setup for Blender 4.3+ to generate animated moss and vegetation on any surface

This is a simple-to-use and highly controllable Geometry Nodes setup for Blender. You’ll be able to generate and control moss, grass, and vegetation on your objects, animate them, and spawn them in a random noise pattern, before or after controlling empty objects, and have them not appear on a custom Dynamic Paint, or vertex group.

Add this node setup to your local library, and… BAM! Done!

KEY FEATURES:

Clearly labeled parameters

For Blender 4.3 or newer

Control where instances spawn based on a second object location (choose your axis, and direction)

Control where istances will not appear, based on Dynamic Paint, or a custom vertex group

1- YOUR COLLECTION OF INSTANCES TO SPAWN;

2- TURN THE WIND ANIMATION ON OR OFF;

3- SET THE DENSITY OF YOUR

INSTANCES;

4- SET THE SCALE OF YOUR INSTANCES;

5- SET THE SEED OF DISTRIBUTION OF YOUR INSTANCES;

6- ASSIGN AN EMPTY/CONTROL OBJECT TO REVEAL YOUR INSTANCES (YOU CAN CHANGE THE AXIS, AND SET IT AS POSITIVE, OR NEGATIVE); 7- ADD AN OPTIONAL WEIGHT MAP/DYNAMIC PAIN SIMULATION; 8- SET AN ATTRIBUTE TO FEED INTO YOUR MATERIALS AND ANIMATE THEMBASED ON THE SPAWNED ISTANCES;
