Added an option to UDS for Time of Day Specific Modifiers. You can configure a map of sky modifiers to fade in and out based on time of day, so for example you could author a modifier which applies during the morning specifically, or at night.
Added an option for the Puddle Fluid Volume to use a Single Layer Water material.
Improvements to Post Process Wind Fog. The effect now defaults to masking with a volume texture of wind/weather exposure around the camera. This is generated using the global distance field. If the global distance field doesn’t exist or isn’t supported, the effect will fallback to masking with player occlusion.
Added a new component class, Weather Particles Kill Sphere, which can kill all weather particles in a spherical radius with zero latency. Intended for special cases like a vehicle interior which needs to cull particles without the latency of the weather particle collision.
Added settings to UDS to scale Mie Scattering settings controlled by the blueprint
Added settings to control the resolution of the render targets for DLWE snow/dust trails, weather mask tools, and WOV/Radial Storm material state.
Added an input to Dynamic Landscape Weather Effects to control the general snow/dust normal map intensity
Added an option to increase the resolution of the path tracer sky light capture
Added a setting for an alternate Exposure Compensation Curve which UDS will swap to if Sun Light Intensity is set at a high/physical level. This is to allow the exposure to adapt better to physical intensity without additional configuration.
Occlusion settings (for both UDS and UDW) have been relocated to a Player Occlusion category on UDS, where they are exposed as normal UDS properties instead of a data asset.
Radial Storms now have a priority setting which allows their sorting behavior with Weather Override Volumes to be customized. Radial Storms and WOVs will be sorted together, respecting each others priority setting.
When placing UDW into a level, it will now set its default manual weather state values to match the existing Cloud Coverage, Fog and Dust Amount on UDS.
The dedicated “Set Enable” functions for optional features on UDW are no longer necessary. You can just set the Enable variable directly at runtime to toggle the effect. The functions have been deprecated.
Improved Ambient Sound Time and Weather Controlled logic to handle instant changes of time and weather with an instant volume update.
If used, the Sky Mode Scalability Map will now apply in the editor as well as runtime.
The Use Auroras bool on UDS can now be directly toggled at runtime with no extra steps.
Changed snow/dust texture samples for Dynamic Landscape Weather Effects to texture parameters so they can be replaced on the instance.
Fixed a problem with the distance field version of the weather particles which could cause their distance field samples to cost more on the GPU than they should
Adjusted brightness of lightning effects and light to adapt to ambient brightness directly, scaled by a new setting Lightning Intensity Ambient Light Scale.
Fixed Inside Cloud Fog applying at incorrect heights with two cloud layers
Added an option to UDS for Min Fog Start Distance, to allow using a value other than 0 for the bottom of the range.
Added an option to Post Process Wind Fog settings for wind intensity to contribute to the effect.
Fixed incorrect Space Planet glow color with projects using substrate in 5.7
Fixed weather sounds contributing to submix reverb effects when fully attenuated by occlusion
