Construction Lines is a tool for accurate CAD style modelling. Build snappable guide points and edges, draw lines and primitive shapes in place, automatically create faces in closed geometry, precisely move, duplicate and rotate geometry around a scene and cut-through meshes with extrude.

Guide edges and points allow for a construction workflow where guides are set and models are then constructed within these guides. The guides won’t interfere with model geometry and can be toggled off and on when required. Guides edges will disappear when working outside of Construction Lines and neither Guide Edges nor Guide Points will be rendered.

Construction Lines allows for rectangles, circles, and arcs to be drawn in place from precise snap points on existing geometry or guides. These can be drawn from anywhere on a 3D model without the need for Blender’s 3D cursor to define an Add location. Drawing shapes onto existing faces will automatically cut into the existing face.

Feature: All new toolbar system that no longer relies on Blender gizmos. It can be scaled and positioned around the viewport, in either a horizontal or vertical orientation. Tooltip text will scale with the toolbar and can also be controlled in the add-on preferences. Note: Viewport gizmos no longer need to be turned on for the toolbar to appear
Supports Blender 4.5 – Note that changing the line width in preferences will not work when using the Vulkan backend (a fix is coming soon)
Improvement: Better checking for object isolation so that hidden objects are not included in snapping calculations
Improvement: Added an auto-merge button to the sidebar. When working at very small unit scales, drawing basic geometry would automatically merge the vertices. Turning auto-merge off will stop vertices from being merged
Fix/Improvement: Extrude and Rotate operations now track mouse input more closely
Fix: Rotate operation no longer self-snaps, which caused rotations to jump around and be unpredictable
Fix: Issue with imperial units not rounding correctly when displayed
Fix: checks to pass-through input to Blender when input is over the sidebar UI or viewport navigation gizmo are now fixed – allows gizmos and sidebar to be used without interference
