Cablerator is a Blender addon (2.8+) for creating and editing hanging cables:
create cables by clicking on geometry
create cables between points of curves
draw cables on geometry or planes
create cables from edges
create hanging cables from objects
create massive numbers of cables between selected faces
use Blender physics to simulate cables
create insulation between selected cables or objects
create simple rope-like structures between selected cables or objects
edit multiple cables width, assign profile quickly

1.4.5 update brings some quality of life adjustments along with laying down foundation for Geometry Nodes cables and Asset Browser integration.

Fixes to support Blender 5.0
New Tension Delta control in the Edit Cable modal that allows to modify Tension of any cable;
Tension Delta takes over the modal key of Move Point function (D) in the Edit Cable modal and Move Point was moved to M key because of that change;
New Tag Profile for Grabbing Helper function to tag profiles for Grab Profile option;
Cycling through profiles via Grab Profile in the active scene only cycles through tagged profiles;
New Line from Curve Length Helper function to create a straight curve line from the active curve (for meshifying);
New Add Rigid Instances along a Curve Geo-Node helper function that adds non-bendable segments to a curve;
Edit Cable works with GN-based simple cables made with Cablerator, 5.0 Tube modifier will be supported in the next update;
